Deleting your account

The steps

1. Sign in. Open the Space app, or go to space.stagewise.app in any browser — you do not need to install anything to delete your account.
2. Open Profile. On a laptop it is your name at the bottom of the sidebar. On a phone it is More, then your name at the top.
3. Choose Delete account, at the bottom of that screen.
4. Hand over any project you own or pay for. The screen lists the other members who have an account, each with a Hand over button. A project cannot be left without an owner, so this comes first — it takes a moment.
5. Enter your password to confirm it is really you.
6. Confirm. That is the whole thing. You are signed out everywhere immediately.

What happens, and when

Straight away

• Every session is revoked — you are signed out of every phone, tablet and browser.
• Every notification registration for your devices is removed, so calls stop ringing and no further alerts are delivered.
• Your account can no longer be used to sign in.

After 30 days

It completes on its own. Nothing further for you to do. The 30 days are there so a deletion made in anger, or by somebody who briefly had your phone, can be undone.

Asking a second time does not push the date back — the first one stands.

What is erased

• Your name, everywhere it appears.
• Your mobile number. It is released, so it can be used to sign up again later.
• Your photo.
• Your password and every stored credential.
• Every device notification token.
• Your place on every project, firm, chat room and discussion you were part of.
• Every file permission granted to you individually.
• Any unused sign-in code, and any invitation still waiting on your number, so nothing can quietly put you back on a project later.
• Your name in meeting transcripts, which becomes "Deleted account".

What stays with the project

The work stays, without your name on it. Messages you sent, points you raised, decisions you took, minutes you wrote, drawings you issued and meetings you ran stay in the project's record, attributed to a deleted account.

This is deliberate. The record of a project is the history of somebody's building, and other people are relying on it. Pulling one person's contributions out would leave holes in a document everyone else has to be able to trust — so your name comes off instead.

Meeting recordings, transcripts and uploaded drawings stay with the project too, and we hold a backup copy so nothing is lost by accident. If you want particular files or recordings permanently erased, write to admin@stagewise.app and we will take care of it.

Changing your mind

Your password and a code to your number both still work during those 30 days.

If you are stuck

Two situations the app cannot solve on its own. Write to us and we will handle it.

• You have lost the number. If you can no longer receive a code on it, you cannot sign in, so you cannot reach the delete button. Email us from any address with the number, and we will verify and delete it for you.
• You own a project nobody else can take. If you are the only member with an account, there is nobody to hand it to. Either invite somebody from the People screen and hand it over, or ask us to delete the project, which removes its rooms, work, chat, meetings and drawings.
